Our friends and community partners, Cannabis Trainers™, visited Pacific Grove on October 5th to offer two cannabis compliance courses: ServSafe Food Safety Certification and Sell-SMaRT™ Responsible Vendor Program. GAIACA the latter course, which prepares dispensary agents/budtenders, consultants, owners, managers, and staff to effectively handle complex situations in their cannabis businesses.

The Sell-SMaRT™ course included participants from several cannabis industry verticals: cultivation, manufacturing, and retail. Experienced Cannabis Trainer, Karin Clarke, delivered educational solutions for the cannabis industry dedicated to compliance and professionalism.

As of 2018, the Bureau of Cannabis Control (BCC), CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing (CDFA), and the Manufactured Cannabis Safety Branch (CDPH) have issued nearly 6,000 commercial cannabis licenses to cannabis businesses throughout California (California Cannabis Portal, 2018). As regulations evolve and as more local municipalities bring commercial cannabis online, cannabis businesses will continue to be under intense scrutiny.

With the growing cannabis industry in California, and throughout the United States, cannabis compliance courses are a necessary part of the normalization and hopeful future legalization process.
